Family Yoga Dance
Monday, April 27th
4:00-5:00pm
At Summit Sol Yoga

Picture

Family Yoga Dance is a fun way for kids and parents or caregivers to stretch, take deep breaths, shake off the day, play games, and bond with their parents and community.

This month’s theme is Bear Waking up From Winter Slumber.

Here’s what we have in store for you:

We’ll start with some deep breaths and a little yoga to get our bodies moving. Then, we’ll have a fun sharing circle where we can share our names and do some silly movements. After that, we’ll tell a story using yoga poses, twirls, and skipping. We’ll take a short break to drink and snack, and then we’ll play a few dance games. And to end the session, we’ll do some deep breathing, a few yoga poses, and a song.

This class is being supported by Building Hope and is a gift to the community.

Family Yoga Dance, led by a passionate educator and mom, believes in the power of play, connection, and joyful movement. With over 22 years of experience as a yoga teacher, she brings a deep understanding of the body, breath, and mindfulness into every class, making it accessible and fun for both kids and adults.

Her background includes working with children and families as a soccer coach, nanny, babysitter, Kids Club teacher, and Mentorship Teacher. She also holds a year of graduate studies in Physical Education, giving her a strong foundation in child development, movement, and learning through play.

As a mom to a vibrant six-year-old, she understands the importance of connection, laughter, and creating meaningful moments together. Family Yoga Dance is an inviting space where families can move, play games, laugh, sing, and unwind side by side.

Her classes spark joy, build confidence, and nurture connection, helping families create memories while supporting physical health, emotional well-being, and a lifelong love of movement.

Liam Valle

Liam has been my co-teacher for over a year now, and he loves to make sure the snacks are full and that there is fun to be had. I danced with him while he was in my belly, then when he was born, I danced with him often. As he started to walk, he started to really create his own dance moves. When we lived in Olympia, our favorite thing to do together was go to Family Dance, where we would play with scarves , do twirls, play silly games with other families, and really shake our bodies to some good music. We didn’t find any Family Dance when we moved here, so we created our own and added in some yoga. Liam loves it so much that he wants to do it every week, but for now, it’s once or twice a month.
